Review: Physicians Formula Youth Boosting Spotless Foundation

physicians-formula-spotless-foundationI picked up the new Physicians Formula Youth Boosting Spotless Foundation (SPF 20) at Ulta. The product is described as “New Innovation! Weightless Foundation Serum. Instant Spotless Coverage. Look up to 10 years younger instantly! Reduce the appearance of Spots 67%. Breakthrough Foundation Formula. Say Goodbye to Spots! Proven Visable Results!” (PhysiciansFormula.com)

The bottle has 1.0 Oz.of product and retails for  $14.95. When I made my purchase, the packaging included a $3.00 off coupon. The color I purchased is Medium or the three choices: light, medium, medium beige.

The official directions are to “Shake bottle before each use. Apply two or three drops of foundation directly onto enclosed Problending Brush. Apply by blending with brush until desired coverage is achieved. Follow with Powder.” (PhysiciansFormula.com) I didn’t find this method very good, especially because I am not a fan of the brush provided.

That being said, I do like this product and it photographs quite well too. The bottle is fitter with a syringe so it keeps you finger out of the product. I do usually dab foundation on my face with my finger. I primed my face with Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional primer before placing foundation on my skin. I then used my Sigma Beauty F80 flat kabuki brush to buff the foundation into my skin. For a setting powder, I turned to Rimmel Stay Matter in translucent.

I only had my make-up on for about 5 hours, but the foundation did not slide, fade, or feel heavy. It was also easy to work with when applying concealer, blush, and bronzer.

I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to incorporating it into my make-up routine.
