Nail Art: Gwen Stefani for OPI’s ‘Push and Shove’

Earlier this month, OPI launched Gwen Stefani for OPI, a limited edition collection of edgy and eye-catching nail polishes inspired by the platinum “Hollaback Girl” singer. Named after various songs from Stefani’s lengthy musical career as both a solo artist and a member of the ska punk/reggae fusion band No Doubt, each bottle of nail polish is packed with just enough quirky glamor and nostalgic charm to leave you feeling “Hella Good.”

This week’s manicure features two elements of the collection – the metallic, chrome, glam rock goodness of “Push and Shove,” and the clear, rock steady roots of “Lay Down That Base” – and finds inspiration in the black-and-white world of No Doubt, Busy Signal, and Major Lazer’s music video for “Push and Shove.”

In the words of Gwen Stefani, “You can work it.”

For this manicure I used:
“Lay Down That Base” by OPI, “Push and Shove” Gwen Stefani by OPI,
Stripe Rite in black, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri “Clearly Quick (110)”

Always start any nail polish application with clean and filed nails. Apply one coat of “Lay Down That Base.”

Apply a generous coat of “Push and Shove.”

Create a Tic-Tac-Toe grid using a Black Stripe Rite polish.

Repeat, but this time fill in the opposite squares to the previous nail.

“Push and Shove” does not require a top coat. I only applied my top coat to the accent nails.
