Screen Awards 2015: Fashion Recap

India as a nation once looked towards Hollywood for all the fashion cues and trends, but now our Bollywood stars are right on par! Here’s a look at the ladies on the red carpet of the Screen Awards 2015.

Who takes the spot for Best Dressed at the Screen Awards 2015?

Screen Awards 2015: Metallics

Model turned actress Manasvi Mamgai is a vision in this Gaviin Miguel dress. The bold colors and metallic are perfectly framed with a bold eye and sleek, straightened hair. Lisa Haydon hits the red carper in a Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna gown and Gucci sandals. The dress doesn’t seem to be a good fit, but the bigger issue is the handbag; the dangling strap is unfinished and distracting.

Pallavi Sharda is a new kid on the block and she tries something bold with this cut-out Payal Singhal number. The cut-outs and dress length are not flattering or sexy. Had the dress been better tailored, this could have been a hit. Kajol is a Bollywood veteran who is slowly catching up with fashion trends. She chooses this gold Rocky S grecian number. The dress is too loose and long and Kajol is missing a statement bracelet or earrings. The look seems incomplete for a B-town award show.

Screen Awards 2015: Classic Black

Jacqueline Fernandez wears a Fall 2014 Giorgio Armani gown gown in classic black. The dress’fan detailing is eyecatching and with her hair pulled back, Fernandez styles this look well. Aditi Rao Hydari chooses a daring look with this Falguni and Shane Peacock dress. Leg, metallic, cutouts – this dress has it all. I appreciate the simple styling and sleek hair.

Representing the next generation of stars is Alia Bhatt in a Prabal Gurung black dress. Her young age allows for fun fashion, but this look disappoints. My biggest issue is the Greek goddess hair, does not suit the Hollywood dress.

Screen Awards 2015: Pops of Color

Kriti Sanon is a vision in a purple Carmen Marc Valvo gown and Gehna jewelry. The dress fits perfectly and the ruffles and peplum accentuate her slender figure. Curvy and proud, Huma Qureshi usually looks fierce, but this Amit GT gown, Dior bag and Roots Atelier jewelry does not work! The dress has too much fabric, the purse is too whimsical for the glam look and the lipstick color clashes.

Color is the key here with Gauhar Khan and this Anjallee & Arjun Kapoor dress. Orange, ruffles, shine – this is awful. The dress is almost a dance costume more than a red carpet pick. Lastly,  Niharika Singh dons a blue Bungalow 8 maxi dress. The color is exquisite and the clutch is eye popping, but again, it feels too casual for an awards night.

Screen Awards 2015: Crisp White

Sophie Choudry is a slender vision in Mayyur Girotra Couture. The one-shoulder, white gown is dressed in red floral in just the right places! I love this look. Sonali Bendre tries something unique with this Ayinat by Taniya O’Connor outfit, Payal Pratap ear-cuffs, Isharya palm ring, and Jimmy Choo sandals. I enjoyed the fresh take on red carpet fashion and think Bendre looks fantastic!

Screen Awards 2015: Fashion Misses!

Among all the fashion high notes, there are two that left e questioning, “what were they thinkning?” First we have Divya Khosla Kumar who ons a Nisha Sainani crop-top with a printed Pia Pauro skirt. Cancun vacation anyone?

Next lady in question is Kanika Kapoor wearing this red and black lace Isha Rajpal sari. Busy, slightly dated, not a fan of this look.

Now that you have seen some fashion hits and misses from the Screen Awards 2015, you decide, who is dressed the best?
