OOTD: Think Pink and Sporty Chic

Pink Sporty Chic 6I do love dressing up, but occasionally need a look during the day that will transform with ease into an impressive evening ensemble. In this outfit, I allowed my sporty/dancer side to shine through and serve as the foundation for this date night look; it’s bright pink and sporty chic!

The jersey, from Ardene (Canada) is a combination of beige and pink leopard print, and features text that reads “Choose 2 Move” across the torso – it’s quite fitting for a dance instructor. The key to this sporty, chic look is in keeping everything streamlined and simple.

I paired the jersey with skinny black jeans and a black, cotton blazer. To add some additional personality to the look, I adorned myself with bright pink, patent pumps, pink drop earrings, and a beaded clutch from Primark (U.K.).

The blazer offers up a sophisticated albeit comfortably collar, which I allowed to take prominence by pulling my hair up into a tight bun using a mesh “donut” ring. You can use an old sock to create the same look if a mesh ring is unavailable. The side-parting took the hairstyle from ballet dancer heights to everyday chic.

The final touch is the makeup. I used my Urban Decay “Naked 3” palette, which contains a variety of pink hued shadows, and lightly applied a glowing touch to my eyelids. A thick black liner adds some volume to my lids, and I used a nude pencil for my waterline.

Lipstick is my go to makeup item for any day, and today was no different. This is a Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in “Flirtatious.” Sticking to the pinks, I applied a pink blush and Benefit’s High Beam face highlighter.

I hope this OOTD inspires you to take those casual, daytime looks and dress them up for an evening out. Enjoy all the pink and remember, stay Stiletto Sharp!
